A Day to Remember for Vista's "Sheriff for a Day
For most fifth graders, a field trip is an exciting day. For Emiliano "Ellie" Hernandez of Vista, it became an unforgettable experience after being selected as this year's Sheriff for a Day.
Recognized for his outstanding character, compassion, leadership, and dedication to serving others, Ellie spent the day alongside members of the San Diego County Sheriff's Office, getting a firsthand look at the important work deputies do to keep our communities safe. His special day included meeting deputies, touring sheriff facilities, exploring patrol vehicles, and being recognized with a proclamation from the City of Vista honoring his achievement.
Programs like Sheriff for a Day remind us that investing in young people today helps build stronger communities tomorrow. Congratulations to Ellie on this well-deserved honor, and thank you to the San Diego County Sheriff's Office and the City of Vista for creating an experience he'll never forget. |
