San Marcos: Every Game and Plenty of Screens

Draft Republic — Opens 9:30 a.m.

If your football philosophy is “the bigger the screen, the better,” start here. Draft Republic has DIRECTV, shows all the NFL games and surrounds guests with more than 30 televisions plus its enormous multi-game video wall. Football also appears on the screens above the bowling lanes, although that bowling area is available only for private parties. Add a full menu, arcade games and more than 40 beers, and this is the big-production option.

The Cowshed — Opens 10 a.m.

For a smaller, less polished neighborhood-bar experience, The Cowshed delivers the essentials: NFL Sunday Ticket and a 10 a.m. opening. This is the local dive-bar alternative to the larger sports restaurants.

Brickmans Restaurant & Bar oOens at 7 a.m.

Set beside the golf course at Lakehouse Resort, Brickmans offers NFL Sunday Ticket in a more polished, family-friendly restaurant setting. It opens at 7 a.m. on Sundays with brunch, giving fans an especially early start before the 10 a.m. games, along with wings, nachos, beer and other game-day favorites.

Vista: Early Openings and Sunday Ticket Choices

Dog Haus Biergarten — Opens 8 a.m.

Dog Haus confirmed that its Vista location participates in NFL Sunday Ticket. Its 8 a.m. opening makes it one of the earliest options in either city, with plenty of time to order breakfast or stake out a table before the 10 a.m. games. Oggi’s confirmed NFL Sunday Ticket and opens as the early games begin. Pizza, wings, a children’s menu and a sports-focused dining room make it one of the guide’s easiest choices for families or mixed-age groups.

Jim’s Vista Lounge  Opens 10 a.m.

Not everyone needs access to every out-of-market matchup. These Vista establishments show football but do not have NFL Sunday Ticket.

Belching Beaver Tavern & Grill — Opens 10 a.m.

Belching Beaver shows the games carried on regular television. The full kitchen, weekend brunch, extensive beer selection and family-friendly restaurant environment make it a good choice when food and craft beer outrank seeing one particular out-of-market team.

CoLab has numerous televisions and uses a streaming service that covers most games, but it does not have Sunday Ticket. Its collection of local beer, wine, spirits and food vendors gives groups plenty of choices under one roof.

Main Street Pour House — Opens 11:30 a.m.

Main Street Pour House does not have Sunday Ticket but generally shows about three games. It is temporarily restricted to guests 21 and older while its restaurant is being completed, with an anticipated opening in roughly 45 days from today. Because that policy is expected to change, check directly before bringing anyone under 21. That policy could change soon, so check before visiting.
