The store is not lost. The business simply outgrew the city in its name.
The North County pet retailer recently celebrated its 10th anniversary and received a proclamation from the Vista City Council.
Deputy Mayor Dan O’Donnell presented the recognition to owner Karen Moore and her staff.
“We all know that you have the opportunity of shopping elsewhere, and we appreciate the fact that you’ve supported us all these 10 years,” O’Donnell said in the City’s video.

Pet owners can visit national chains, order online or arrange for kibble to appear on the porch without making eye contact with another human.
Carlsbad Pet & Feed still reached 10 years—and expanded to four North County locations.

According to the City’s recognition announcement, Moore founded Carlsbad Pet & Feed in 2016.
City officials say the company opened its Vista store in 2019 at 2235 S. Melrose Drive, Suite 110.
Today, Carlsbad Pet & Feed lists two stores in Carlsbad, one in Encinitas and one in Vista.
The name stayed put.
The footprint did not.
The Vista store has now operated during seven of the company’s 10 years—most of its history.
Carlsbad Pet & Feed held its anniversary celebration Sept. 12. The company summarized the milestone neatly: “Ten years. Four stores. One incredible community.”
“Incredible” is the company’s opinion.
The four stores are verifiable.
More Than Kibble and Squeaky Chickens
Carlsbad Pet & Feed identifies Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary as one of its rescue and sanctuary partners.
Customers can purchase requested supplies at one of the company’s stores or arrange payment by telephone. Carlsbad Pet & Feed says it then coordinates delivery to the sanctuary.
Fallbrook Animal Sanctuary has separately thanked the business for helping collect and provide food, toys and other supplies.
The Vista location has also hosted kitten-adoption events associated with the sanctuary.
No published figure shows how many animals have been adopted through those events or how much has been donated.

The documented relationship matters without inflating it.
Carlsbad Pet & Feed has also been promoted as a returning VIP sponsor of Vista’s Dog Days of Summer and appears in the Vista Chamber of Commerce directory.

Still wish they'd change the name now that they’re in multiple cities, but hey, at least the service is solid!
Would be nice if they listed how many animals got adopted. Still cool they help out the sanctuary though.
