Vista Village is getting a dance night where you can move however you want.

Just don’t narrate it.

The Ecstatic Tribe plans to bring its free-form dance event to Yoga Branch on Saturday, October 10. There’s a live DJ. There’s no partner requirement. And nobody is handing out choreography.

There is, however, a no-talking rule on the dance floor.

Fair trade?

That depends on how attached you are to explaining your dance moves.

The Floor Has a Few Conditions

The organizer, The Heart Centered Being LLC, lists DJ Shiva J for the October event.

Doors open at 7:30 p.m. An opening circle starts at 8. Dancing runs from 8:15 to 10:45, followed by a closing circle. Doors close at 11.

The organizer’s rules are straightforward: no talking on the dance floor, no shoes, and no phones or photography during the dance. Socks are allowed. Alcohol and substances are not.

Dancers are also asked to respect personal space.

In other words, the music gets your attention. The person next to you gets room to move.

And your phone?

It can sit this one out.

Why Vista Village?

The event is listed for Yoga Branch at 208 E Broadway. The studio confirms that address on its website.

The organizer calls October 10 its “Vista debut.” That describes this Ecstatic Tribe event. It does not mean nobody has held an ecstatic dance in Vista before.

A small distinction.

A useful one.

The October listing also says the organizer plans to return every second Saturday. Separate listings advertise November 14 and December 12 events at Yoga Branch, both starting at 7:30 p.m.

So this is being pitched as the start of a series.

Whether it becomes a lasting Vista fixture is a question for later. Right now, three dates are advertised. October 10 is the first.

What It Costs

The October listing advertises early-bird tickets at $22, limited to 20. Regular tickets are $33. Day-of tickets are $44. Admission at the door is $55, if space permits.

Check which ticket tier is available and what the checkout total shows before paying. The organizer says tickets are nonrefundable.

That leaves the bigger decision.

Would you enjoy a Saturday night with a DJ, an open dance floor and no need to know what you’re doing?

For some people, that sounds liberating.

For others, the phrase “opening circle” may be the moment they remember they have laundry.
