The Vista Chamber found a way to make golf even weirder.

Respectfully.

At hole No. 6 during the Boys & Girls Club of Vista’s Golf Fore the Kids Tournament, the Chamber team hosted a golf-cornhole mashup.

Golf was apparently not already difficult enough with the tiny ball, long grass, sand traps and the emotional damage of watching your shot take a hard left like it had somewhere else to be.

So they added cornhole.

And somehow, that silly little fairway game led to the real story.

The Chamber also asked players what they wanted to be when they were kids — and what they do now.

That question turned a charity golf hole into something much better than a sponsor stop.

It turned it into a reminder that kids’ dreams need more than applause.
