Woodland Park Pool Reopens Just in Time for Summer Fun After five months of renovations, Woodland Park Pool is back open and ready for swimmers. The nearly 50-year-old pool in San Marcos welcomed families back on June 15 with a ribbon-cutting ceremony featuring Mayor Rebecca Jones and members of the City Council.
What the Renovation Included The project replaced the pool's aging plaster with a fresh surface designed to extend the facility's life and give swimmers a more comfortable experience. Crews also installed new tile finishes, added accessibility upgrades, and put in a brand-new pool lift. The surrounding deck area got a refresh too, sprucing up the whole space for summer.
The work was funded by $363,000 from Measure Q, San Marcos's one-cent sales tax. Revenue from Measure Q is set aside in part to keep the city's parks, trails, and community facilities safe, clean, and well-maintained — and this project is a direct example of those dollars at work.
More Than Just Laps Woodland Park Pool is a neighborhood hub. Beyond recreational swimming, it features a diving area, water slides, and rental cabanas. It is also home to swim lessons and seasonal programming throughout the summer months, making it a go-to spot for families across San Marcos.
Hours and Location The pool is located at 671 Woodland Parkway in San Marcos. Recreational swim hours are noon to 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and noon to 5 p.m. Friday through Sunday. Are there lockers there or do I still need to keep my stuff poolside?
Fernando M.Last time I went they still had the open cubby shelves, but not full lockers. I’d keep valuables with you or hidden just in case.
