If you drove past Prohibition Brewing Company on East Vista Way and spotted the oversized for-sale sign, you probably had the same question that started bouncing around local Facebook: Is the brewery going somewhere?

Here’s the useful distinction: the real estate is definitely for sale. That does not, by itself, mean Prohibition Brewing is closing.

The 2004–2012 E. Vista Way property is actively listed for $2.75 million. The listing, marketed by SRS Real Estate Partners, went on the market June 4 and describes the site as a restaurant, tap room and brewing facility. Meanwhile, Prohibition’s own website remains active, lists regular business hours and continues to promote its food, house-brewed beer and keg reservations.

What exactly is for sale?

The commercial listing describes the 2004–2012 E. Vista Way property as roughly 6,687 square feet across three commercial buildings on about an acre.

The asking price is $2.75 million. The listing pitches the property as an opportunity for an owner-user, repositioning or possible redevelopment, and notes that brewing equipment information is available upon request.

That language explains why a giant sign gets attention. It also doesn’t say Prohibition Brewing has shut down or announced a closing date.

The lease question is the part we can’t confirm yet

One local Facebook comment shared with North Valley Flare says the brewery has an “extended lease.”

We have not independently verified that claim. The public listing we reviewed does not state the brewery’s lease term or expiration date, and we have not seen a lease document or an on-record statement from the brewery or listing brokers confirming those details.

So for now, treat the extended-lease claim as exactly that: an unverified local Facebook claim. We are not drawing conclusions about its term, expiration date or legal effect without stronger documentation.

Prohibition has been a Vista fixture since 2011

Prohibition Brewing opened at 2004 E. Vista Way on Nov. 11, 2011. A 2022 profile of the brewery reported that founders Ron and Kathy Adams started brewing as a hobby before turning it into the Vista restaurant and brewery, later joined in the family business by their son Kyle.

Today, the brewery’s website still lists the East Vista Way location and advertises more than 20 beers brewed in-house, along with a full food menu. Its posted hours currently show the business closed Mondays and open Tuesday through Sunday.

In other words, there are two stories here: a longtime Vista brewery that appears to be operating normally, and the property it occupies being marketed for sale.
