The Chamber’s newest issue reveals a city that refuses to squeeze itself into one tidy business category |
Beer.
Boots.
Sushi.
Botanical gardens.
Public-school support.
That sounds less like a magazine lineup and more like five browser tabs somebody forgot to close.
Yet there they are—together—in the Fall 2026 issue of Vista Magazine from the Vista Chamber of Commerce.
The quarterly publication is available online in English and Spanish. Printed copies are also available from the Chamber.
Just check the address before chasing one down.
The magazine is out. The publisher is preparing to move.
Five Stories, One Very Uncooperative Label
The issue features Prohibition Brewing Company, Redback Boots, Mikko Sushi, Alta Vista Botanical Gardens and Vista Education Foundation.
Try putting those into one business category.
We’ll wait.
Prohibition Brewing Company operates at 2004 E. Vista Way.
Mikko Sushi serves customers at 330 Main Street, putting its part of the story squarely in downtown Vista.
Redback Boots USA handles something much larger than a neighborhood storefront. From 2350 Oak Ridge Way, the company serves as the exclusive national distributor for Australian-made Redback work and lifestyle boots.
The boots are manufactured in Australia.
Their trip across America begins in Vista.
That distinction matters because “made in Vista” and “distributed from Vista” tell two different stories. One is manufacturing. The other is logistics, sales and national reach. Both matter to a local economy.
Only one involves convincing people that steel-toed footwear can be a lifestyle choice.
Vista Is More Than Storefronts
Alta Vista Botanical Gardens takes the lineup in another direction entirely.
Located at 1270 Vale Terrace Drive inside Brengle Terrace Park, the 14-acre garden includes themed landscapes, walking areas, artwork and gathering spaces.
Vista Education Foundation represents the classroom side of the community. It provides grants to Vista schools and supports student internship and mentoring programs.
Now put all five organizations back together.
A brewery. A sushi restaurant. A national footwear distributor. A botanical garden. An education nonprofit.
The connection is not what they sell—or whether they sell anything at all.
The connection is Vista.
The magazine accidentally makes a useful point: this city’s local economy is not one industry wearing five different hats.
It is the entire hat rack.
Yes, Vista Has Two Publications to Remember Vista Magazine is published quarterly by the Vista Chamber of Commerce. It carries local stories, community information and a directory of Chamber members.
It is separate from the City of Vista’s Recreation Guide.
Same city. Similar subject matter. Different publishers.
Local civic literacy now includes knowing which Vista publication is sitting on the counter.
The Chamber’s online magazine archive goes back to Fall 2020. Spanish-language editions are listed alongside English issues beginning with Summer 2022.
The Fall 2026 issue also includes updates from Chamber CEO Rachel Beld, Vista Unified School District Superintendent Dr. Matt Doyle and Vista Mayor John Franklin, plus community events and the Chamber directory.
About That Moving Box
On Aug. 10, the Chamber announced plans to leave The Film Hub and relocate this fall to a standalone headquarters at 350 E. Broadway.
It did not announce an exact moving date.
As of Aug. 25, the Chamber website continued to list 170 Eucalyptus Avenue as its address. So, yes, stop by for a magazine.
But call first.
Nothing adds adventure to local reading quite like arriving at the office after the office has moved.

If you haven’t been to Alta Vista Botanical Gardens, you’re missing out! Good to see them getting some attention in the magazine.
Not sure why they lumped boots and sushi together, but I guess it gets people talking about all the businesses we have here.
Happy they highlighted the Vista Education Foundation! My daughter’s school got a grant last year, it made a big difference.

The magazine lineup is so random, but it does kind of sum up Vista. I’ve visited the botanical gardens and had sushi downtown on the same day.
I like how they included Redback Boots, but I didn’t even realize they were based out of Vista! That’s kind of awesome for work boot fans.
It’s cool that they have the magazine in Spanish too. My mom will actually be able to read it now. Might bring one home next time I’m near the Chamber office.
