If it feels like Better Buzz Coffee has become a regular part of San Marcos conversations lately, you're not imagining it.

The San Diego-based coffee company recently opened its first San Marcos café at 904 W. San Marcos Boulevard, bringing its signature handcrafted coffee drinks, breakfast favorites, and modern café atmosphere to local residents.

The location has quickly become a popular stop for commuters, students, and anyone looking for a quality cup of coffee before starting the day. Now, Better Buzz appears ready to grow even more.

According to recent planning reports, the company is proposing a second San Marcos location at 201 South Rancho Santa Fe Road, the former KFC property. While the project is still working its way through the approval process and an opening date has not yet been announced, the proposal highlights the company's continued investment in North County.

Founded in San Diego in 2002, Better Buzz has grown from a single coffee cart into one of Southern California's most recognizable local coffee brands. Today, the company operates locations throughout San Diego County and has expanded into Arizona and Nevada, while continuing to roast its own coffee and develop new café concepts.

Part of  Better Buzz's appeal is its menu, which goes well beyond traditional coffee. Customers can choose from espresso drinks, cold brews, teas, smoothies, breakfast sandwiches, avocado toast, pastries, and the company's signature "Best Drink Ever," one of its most talked-about specialty beverages.

For San Marcos residents, another location could mean shorter wait times, easier access from different parts of the city, and another gathering place for coffee lovers. The proposed Rancho Santa Fe Road café would also breathe new life into a long-vacant commercial property while adding another dining option to one of the city's busiest corridors.
