Short Fairways. Loud Shirts. A Fundraiser With a Local Job to Do. |
LSMCA’s November 19 golf tournament supports the association behind community news, gatherings and advocacy at Lake San Marcos. |
That tropical shirt in your closet has been waiting for this.
Lake San Marcos Community Association’s third annual golf tournament is scheduled for Thursday, November 19, 2026, at the Executive Golf Course.
The organizer lists 9 a.m., confirms a scramble format and encourages tropical attire.
So far, so colorful.
But the reason for this outing reaches beyond golf. It supports an organization whose stated work includes keeping residents informed, bringing neighbors together and representing community interests.
First, Get the Course Right
The operator identifies the venue as The Exec at Lakehouse, at 1556 Camino Del Arroyo, San Marcos.
The course has 18 holes, measures 2,700 yards and is par 58.
Those specifications explain the shorter layout. They do not separately establish how many holes tournament participants will play.
The announcement also leaves one practical question unanswered: Does 9 a.m. mean check-in or the beginning of play?
Confirm directly before planning your arrival.
And check the address. The Exec and The Links at Lakehouse are separate courses.
Getting lost before the first swing is an unnecessary addition to the scorecard.
What Happens After the Clubs Go Away
LSMCA’s stated activities include community communications, town halls, events, traffic and safety liaison work, and lake-water-quality advocacy.
It publishes the monthly Quail Call newsletter and lists a lending library among its services.
Its bylaws describe a purpose centered on community betterment, education, communication and representation in discussions with public agencies and other service providers.
That’s the organization behind the tropical invitation.
The homepage announcement does not identify a specific project receiving this year’s proceeds. These are broader association activities, rather than promised destinations for individual tournament dollars.
An Earlier Tournament Left Actual Numbers
LSMCA’s published 2024–25 annual report includes a previous tournament’s financial breakdown.
The association reported $7,435 in income and $3,700.26 in expenses, producing $3,734.74 in net income for its General Fund.
Sponsors supplied $2,750 of the reported income. Golfer payments, a 50/50 and a silent auction accounted for the rest.
The report says hole sponsorships were introduced at that event.
These are historical, association-reported figures—not independently audited results or this November’s fundraising target.
Still, they give readers something more concrete than “a great day for a great cause.” There’s a reported result behind the invitation.
Ask Before You Assemble a Team
LSMCA distinguishes itself from Citizens Development Corporation, also known as The Lodge, which operates recreation facilities. Its website says facility assessments do not cover association dues.
For this tournament, entry prices, deadlines, eligibility, team arrangements, sponsorship packages and included amenities remain unconfirmed in the public materials reviewed.
Ask directly before committing. The shirt can be spontaneous. The registration details deserve a little preparation.
