A Pretzel With a Parting Gift: The Boochyard’s Advertised Oktoberfest Special

The Vista venue’s Dine & Stein announcement pairs a pour with a take-home glass—and a local story beyond kombucha.

The pretzel has a short future.

The stein gets cupboard space.

That is the pitch behind The Boochyard’s advertised Dine & Stein special.

The announcement supplied to North Valley Flare lists September 29 through October 11 and a $25 price.

One drink.

One warm Bavarian pretzel.

One glass stein to take home.

A snack with a souvenir attached.

The announcement does not specify the year. Current availability and the full promotional terms remain unconfirmed, so check before making the trip.

What Is in the Advertised Package?

According to the announcement, the special includes a 16-ounce glass stein filled with your choice of beer or kombucha.

The glass is yours to keep.

The pretzel comes with white cheese, mustard and hot honey mustard.

Three accompaniments.

Nobody accused this pretzel of traveling light.

The announcement does not name eligible drinks, confirm nonalcoholic substitutions or explain whether tax is included.

Those details deserve a quick question before ordering.

Hard kombucha contains alcohol. The word “kombucha” does not automatically mean an alcohol-free alternative.

Vista’s Booch Story Has Another Address

The Boochyard’s current location is 1430 Vantage Court, Suite 101, Vista, CA 92081.

Its earlier local chapter was on Poinsettia Avenue.

In May 2019, San Diego Reader reported that Local Roots had opened a tasting room at 1495 Poinsettia Avenue, Unit 148, in the former Toolbox Brewing space.

The Vantage Court venue followed.

Its opening announcement identified cousins Ryan White and Joe Carmichael as Local Roots’ owners and operators at that time.

A dated event listing advertised a grand opening celebration for Saturday, March 26, 2022.

That establishes the scheduled celebration. It does not establish the exact first day of service.

The history is interesting enough without rounding the facts.

The Name Leaves Out the Pizza

The original Vantage Court announcement included hard kombucha, nonalcoholic kombucha, guest beer and wine.

Different drinks were already part of the announced concept.

A later company announcement described a new wood-fired pizza menu, salads and appetizers.

Today, the official venue pages still advertise pizza, more than 35 taps, games and live events.

Local Roots lists arcade games, cornhole and board games.

Boochcraft identifies the location as kid- and dog-friendly.

That gives a visit more possibilities than the name suggests.

Food can be the starting point.

The current tap selection can be a conversation with staff.

Nobody needs a fermentation lecture before dinner.

Do Not Forget Monday

Both official websites publish matching hours.

Tuesday through Thursday: 4–9 p.m.

Friday and Saturday: noon–10 p.m.

Sunday: noon–9 p.m.

Monday: closed.

The advertised date range does not establish special opening hours.

Confirm the offer before heading over.

A closed door is a disappointing way to begin a souvenir collection.
