The 2026 entry form lists $250 for a float, $300 with walkers and extra vehicle charges worth checking.

Vista's Christmas Parade Has a Sweet Theme—and a Price Deadline

Thinking about entering a float or walking group in Vista's Christmas Parade? Check the fees before November 2. That's when the Chamber says prices go up.

The parade is Saturday, December 5, at 1 p.m. in Downtown Vista. This year's theme is Candyland Dreams. There's time to plan decorations, but less time to settle the entry fee.

What the Registration Form Actually Says

The Chamber's 2026 application currently lists $250 for a float by itself and $300 for a float with walkers. A single-vehicle entry is $200.

Walking groups are listed at $200, or $250 with a vehicle. Nonprofit walking groups are $150, or $200 with a vehicle.

School band and school cheer, dance or drill entries each start at $150. A combined school band and cheer, dance or drill entry is $200, and military or police auxiliary groups are also listed at $150.

Those are base prices. Your total may be higher.

The Fine Print Matters

The form also lists an additional $100 fee for the first vehicle and $25 for each extra vehicle. It warns that extra participants may add a charge.

Several walking-group categories cap entries at 40 people; school categories list up to 50. Check how the limits and vehicle charges apply to your particular entry before paying.

The form asks for insurance information and nonprofit status where applicable. Check that before inviting half the neighborhood to march behind your float.

A Downtown Vista Tradition

The Vista Chamber and City of Vista are presenting the 68th annual parade. The Chamber calls this year's theme Candyland Dreams.

Floats will be judged for Best Use of Theme, Best Spirit and Best Overall. The Chamber says winners are announced at its January Business Mixer.

You don't have to enter to enjoy the parade, of course. The December 5 event runs through Downtown Vista, with the 1 p.m. start confirmed on the Chamber's event page.

Before November 2

If your school, business or community group wants to participate, review the registration categories and the additional-fee section now. The Chamber has announced a November 2 price increase, but not the new rates.

November 2 is a price-change date, not necessarily the last day to sign up. Ask the Chamber if you need a firm registration cutoff.

Better to know about an extra vehicle charge before you spend the weekend building a float.
